The big cats are the ‘excitement’ of the safari, and I have to say that for me the Leopard is the pinnacle. 

Whenever we heard “Chui” over the guides radio we knew there was excitement at hand. Sod’s law meant that we were nearly always on the other side of the river/park/area from the Leopard, but that didn’t deter us, nor happily our guides. Such is the pull of this magnificent and beautiful cat that we’d travel for miles to check out and hopefully see the Leopard for ourselves. On one occasion in Tanzania we came across a big male sitting quietly in the grass, what an afternoon that was, just the leopard and us, BLISS…..
